lly made it back from the beach, a grueling 12 hour drive but we made it through. My mom drove down with the kids and I on Thursday while Paul flew in from Chicago. We tried to spend friday morning on the beach but the wind was just to strong and the sand felt like needles hitting you. We spent friday afternoon at Mount Trashmore Park, a once landfill that had been filled in and turned into a beautiul park, so if anyone is looking for an idea on how to hide a dump. Kara competed on saturday morning, they placed 10th. We had the afternoon to try the beach again and it was sucessful this time. The water was beautiful but a bit chilly...didn't stop the kids from jumping in. Then we went the The Cheesecake Factoy for dinner with some of Kara's team, another yummy place. On sunday we dropped my mom off at the airport, she couldn't handle another 12 hours in the car, and the rest of us endured the drive home.
We ate at "Cheeseburger in Paradise", it was very yummy.

We got a couple chances to hang out on the beach while we were there, Nathan and Paul built a sandcastle, well tried to before Nathan got bored and knocked it all down.

Admiring the view.
Well we have come to the end of Kara's season for this year so we have a couple of months where we will have our weekends back, what will we do with ourselves?:) Although cheering does not end..she starts the summer session in a few weeks but it is only one day a week. She is going to an overnight cheering camp in July and she wants to spend sometime at the gym this summer for their summer fun camp. And starting in August the next season begins again and Kara is asking to be on two all-star teams, luckily they compete at the same places, so it just means an added practice time not any extra traveling time that we wouldn't already be doing or paying for.

Got to say...while your life sure sounds exciting these days, aren't you exhausted?? How does Nathan handle hanging out at the gym for all the competitions?
Hi Meg-
I am so exhausted the last month has been quite a whirl wind. Paul and Nathan only made the trip to the competition in Virginia Beach and on the day of the competition they dropped us off and only came back for a short while to watch Kara's team go and then they left again. It is defenitally not Nathan or Pauls thing to sit there and watch the entire day....they would go crazy and so would I having them there. I am sure one day Nathan might be excited about seeing all those girls in one place but now it not the time.
Sounds like you've been really busy! Looking forward to seeing you in August! We are taling about taking a long weekend on Monhegan Island this summer. Have you been?
Take care.
