York's Wild Animal Kingdom

Today we went to York's Wild Animal Kingdom, a combination zoo and amusement park. They had a butterfly exhibit and here are the kids getting tired of holding out their arms for the butterflies to land on them.
They had a place were you could feed deer, they were a little aggressive considering Nathan didn't even have any food.

They had some cool animals, like this Kangaroo. They also had tigers, lions, elephant, black bears, zebra, bobcat, black leopard, ostrich, alligators, and lots of monkey's.

Of course we couldn't miss the rides

Hard to believe but Kara is now tall enough to go on the adult rides by herself.....she is over the 48 inch mark.

Uncles are the best!

We love you Uncle Jason! We had a great time tonight Thank you for showing us new baby "Tallulah", grooming the dogs, giving us piggy back rides and sharing our KFC with us. we hope Uncle David is feeling better soon. Love, Kara & Nathan

The Dog's Must be Groomed

We went over the my brother Jason's house tonight to see the new baby horse and while we were there he got out the grooming table. Our dog Katie needed her nails filed and then after that each of the dogs(and they have 6) had to be brushed, I think we only got around to 3 of them while we were there. BTW, my brother is a Veterinary Technician so he is our go to guy for all our pet needs, very handy.

This is Pearl, The Pug. Nathan's favorite of the bunch.

This is Spencer. He kept trying to lick Nathan while he was giving him a good brushing.
The kids had a blast, "Thank you Uncle Jason."

Happy Easter!

The Easter Bunny arrived at our house without incident. Kara woke up at 6am so excited you would have thought it was Christmas and by the end of the day you would have thought it was with as much stuff as they received not only from the Easter Bunny but Grandparents, aunts and uncles. Nathan's basket was filled with all Spongebob items, he is addicted. Kara's basket had all Littlest Pet Shop items along with a few other odds and ends.
We went to my parents house for an Easter Dinner with family and after the kids went outside and went sliding, they had a blast. All in all the day was excellent even when all that candy was consumed.

Thank you Lakomski's!

Today happened to be ANOTHER snow day. So what a wonderful surprise and distraction to get a Valentine's package from our far away and dear friends. MaryJo, the sunglasses were perfect, I was just going to go out and buy them each a pair to bring on our trip to Florida. You know how we easily lose sunglasses. Thank you so much. We miss you guys:) Tell Nick and Alex that we hope they enjoyed the goodies we sent them.

Iceskating

An icestorm late last week left our driveway a little icy, well so much that the kids got their iceskates on and cruised around. This was Nathan's first time on iceskates, he did fairly well.

SLIME TIME

The kids and I were having a day where we needed a distraction, so we decided to make some slime. Thank you Elizabeth for the recipe. We had a great time. For those of you who are looking for something fun to do to kill some time and that's not to messy.

Here is the recipe: In Bowl 1 combine 1 cup of water and 1 cup of white glue along with a few drops of food coloring. In Bowl 2, combine 1 1/3 cups warm water with 4 tsp boraxget in the laundry section of the store), stir until borax is dissolved. Pour contents of bowl 1 into bowl and slosh around a bit, then lift the slim out and squeeze out excess water and knead. Store in Ziploc bag when not in use.
