Our good friends the Lakomskis gave us "The Elf on the Shelf" this year as as new holiday tradition(you can always count on MaryJo for a new tradition to start). If you have never heard here is the deal. The Elf comes with a book telling his story, by the way our elf is named Steve(why I do not know the kids named him). Every night the Elf goes to the North Pole to let Santa know how the kids are behaving and then the next am the elf has relocated to another spot to keep an eye out. The kids love it for the last few weeks every am they get up and hunt for where Steve is. Nathan is even cuter...he talks to him ALOT. As you can see Steve likes hanging out in some odd places:)

What a great idea! Love it! Where did MJ buy the elf?
You can get them at Hallmark or Cardsmart.
Wow looks like fun i will have to go find one!
I want one too! I have been playing the good ole'...Santa's watching card for the past month now, but having a concrete object in the house like the Elf would be even better!!! BTW..what is Cardsmart?? Never heard of it.
Cardsmart is a discount card store I guess only here in Maine? Very similar to Hallmark or Carlton Cards.
This is the second year we've had our ELF.....Sawyer affectionately named him "Mater" (obviously, he's watched CARS way too much) Somehow our tradition has expanded and not only does Mater appear somewhere else every morning, he also brings a little surpise in the advent calendar, too. It is so much fun and a great way to encourage good behavior....all I have to say is, "Remember, Mater is watching so he can report to Santa" and Sawyer is back on track....Have fun:)
