We're going on safari......

Today Nathan and I met a friend at the Maine Wildlife Park, closest thing we have to a zoo near our house. They have all animals that you might find out in the wild here in Maine. Nathan was set on wearing his safari hat to the park today..who could say no to that adorable face.

Bob Cat

Porcupine...Nathan thought his teeth could use a good brushing. I never knew they were such good climbers.
Peacocks...nothing new to use my brother has these at his house.
The famous Maine Black Bear. They also had a moose but I couldn't get a good picture of him but he was huge and quite a beauty to see.

To be like mom

I walked into the bathroom to find Nathan sitting like this with the blue Easter eggs on him.
"Nathan what are you doing?" I said.
Nathan replies, "I'm trying to look like you mommy and have these."
Why of all things to be like me does he want to have breasts? Kids are great you never know what they are going to come out with next.

Kettle Cove

It was a super hot day today so we went to the ocean. We went to a new place called Kettle Cove, thanks to some friends from the coop that told us about this place. We got there around 9am and it was about 75 degrees but with the breeze from the water it felt much cooler, I had goosebumps most of the time and we never took our top layer of clothes off. Nathan got to play with some friends who will be in his class next year, Sydney and Will. We stayed till about noon and my cars temp said 75 and as we drove closer to home(about 20 minutes) the temp slowly raised to a whopping 92 by the time we reached our house, WE SHOULD HAVE STAYED AT THE BEACH!

It was a very cool place, because it is a cove when the tide is out it leaves all these little tidal pools where you can find shells, hermit crabs, crabs and today we even saw two squid. Plenty of things to explore.

Dinosaurs in Maine

Today we went to Smiling Hill Farm, it was a playdate set up by this preschool class for next fall. They have alot of cool wooden playground equipment(firetruck, train, airplane, monster truck) and of course this gem that Nathan just loved the "John Deere-A-Saurus." We had a great time and it happened to be sunny for the two hours we were there but the minute we got home the rain came down again.

Giddy Up!

Nathan started riding lessons, this was his second one. Here he was waiting for Bo to be ready.

The stables...with Uncle Jason, Uncle David and just half of their dogs.

He looks so little on such a big animal but he does a great job.

He can be a good listener.....however there were many times when I heard him talking Uncle Jason's ears off about what he did the other day or looking around at the equipment going by while on the horse not paying much attention to what he was doing which made me a little nervous.

The Graduate

Nathan has unofficially graduated from preschool, since he will be returning to the same class next year due to missing the cutoff here(Oct 15th). He did a great job, sang the songs, although not very loud but he did sing.
Claire, Nathan, Conner & Ella

The Diploma

Nathan with his teachers Ms. Deidre & Ms. Mary, they are the best. They called each kid up and said a few things that they loved about them and what they would miss abut them. They said they would miss Nathan for his restaurant and shopping information, does that tell you where we spend to much of our time.

only one day left

Nathan is on his final days for school...I don't think I am ready for it to end already, it seems like it went by so fast. He has a field day tomorrow and then graduation(or we call it end of year celebration because he is reurning next year) on friday.
He misses the cut off by 6 days here so he is nable to start school until 09-10, which I am happy about, I don't think I am quite ready for full time school for them both or maybe just for me it may mean I have to decide what to do when I go back to work and right now that just seems like such a big decision.

the entire class at the end of every day sings a good bye song

a descision was made

After weeks of looking I finally decided on a camera...the Sony Cybershot. I like it so far, its compact and easy to use. So here is one of the first pictures taken with it, seems to look pretty descent. Nathan's end of year preschool celebration is next week and I needed a camera for that so now I can breath a little easier.
And now for the story on the bike. A few weeks ago Nathan pt a hole in his tire from all the quick braking that he had been doing, I hunted all over for a replacement nobody carried the 14 inch size i guess it was a retail decision that they make this size bike and then to discontinue the supplies to fix them. I had to go to a specialty bike shop and they had to order it special for me for $22, can you believe it! So after all was said and done and they installed it the day it came in for another $8 I should have just bought him a brand new bike because I don't think I paid much more for his bike. It was also a long 12 days without the bike since the weather has been beautiful.

The Amazing Wall Crawler

Nathan has been asking for months for a Spiderman costume, so finally it arrived in his Easter basket(the easter bunny got a great deal). So today he put it on the minute he got up and he says he is wearing it to school:)

Looking good in our whites

Today Nathan started another session of Jukado and he finally got his GI(the white uniform), thank you Uncle Jason & Uncle David!
He has the face mask because they were flag sparing, Nathan won his match. It was so cute it was very nonviolent, the whole point is to only grab the flag from their belt.

Time to make the doughnuts!

Nathan had cooking class and today as doughnut making. He made raised doughnuts with a sugar glaze. Everyone got to try ONE creation there and then they brought about a dozen home. They were super yummy and are almost gone by the next morning. Next week is Shrimp Gumbo, not one of my favorites but should be better for my figure.

Chef Nathan

Nathan has been taken cooking classes for a few weeks now. Today he made Banana Cream Pie. He loved the bananas but not a big fan of the rest of the pie. He got to bring 3 pies home for everyone else in the family to taste test. They were very yummy. Next week he gets to make donuts.....yummmmmmmm, we can't wait for the leftovers.

Our Night with a Dinosaur!

Last night Nathan was chosen to bring his class dinsosaur home(one of those things you put in water and it grows). His teacher always knows how to do things that get the kids involved, she is wonderful. He had so much fun hamming it up for the camera. He is just so funny! The dinosaurs sleeping bag was one of my William & Sonoma potholders, he fit perfectly. Now this kind of guest I can handle:)
